Swansea Total Fitness 5th Annual Thanksgiving 5k Run/3k Walk

Join the Total Fitness team this Thanksgiving morning for our 5th Annual Thanksgiving event! All proceeds will go in Memory of Selina Oehmen. Entry fee prior to Nov 21st is $25, $30 day of the race. The first 200 registered runners/walkers will receive a t-shirt. Learn more about this 5k or you can go directly to the registration page.

Total Fitness Food Drive

Total Fitness is teaming up with the United Way for our annual food drive. We will be collecting non-perishable items such as dry pasta, can goods, rice, mac & cheese and instant mashed potatos for families in need. There will be a bin to put your donations in the gym foyer, or it can be handed to the front desk.

Bristol Total Fitness Blood Drive

Bristol Total Fitness is hosting a Blood Drive for the Rhode Island Blood Center. The blood center distributes blood products to hospitals in Rhode Island and Southern New England. Don’t forget to bring your drivers license or another form of ID when you donate. For your generous donation, you will receive a FREE Shake.

Totally Fit Kids with Andrea Chase

Kids grades 1-5 will undertake a 6-week group training with exercises and activities that focus on developing stability, mobility, muscular strength, core function, and motor-skill performance. Getting kids on the right path toward a long-lasting healthy lifestyle all starts with fundamental movement skills that are learned by participating in any activity that teaches body awareness, balance, and coordination. Lunchtime Express with James SimmonsTake a break and recharge yourself to avoid that mid-afternoon slump! Total Fitness for Women with Stacia Abdow

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group-training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Stacia Abdow. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from your trainer and group will help you reach your goals. N-Spire Fit with Julie Fostin

Are you in need of some fitness N-Spiration? Join Julie for this 6-week group training that will motivate you to achieve your health and wellness goals. Enjoy working out with fellow participants to push you to the next level of fitness. Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at Space is limited, participants must sign up 1 week in advance and pay for 1/2 of the program to reserve a spot. (Friday – min. 3 max. 6 participants) (Saturday – min. 3 max. 8 participants)

Woman of Steel with Walter Medeiros

Join this 8-week progressive strength-training program for women focusing on all aspects of fitness including cardiovascular & muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. Participants will enjoy the camaraderie of working with a group in a fun and encouraging atmosphere to achieve results. Workouts will consist of weight, balance and flexibility training with cardio intervals to focus on core strength. All fitness levels welcome. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Members that Inspire Us

Marissa Moniz joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2016. She started working out at BTF during her summer breaks from college. After graduating, she now comes to the gym consistently 5 – 6 days a week. Marissa has recently grown to appreciate HIIT workouts. This summer, she lost 10 lbs. by increasing the intensity of her workouts and tracking her food. Marissa’s favorite fitness journey quote is by Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re probably right.” It’s all in your mindset. Marissa says, “You can do anything you set your mind to if you believe in yourself.” Congratulations!
Ruben DeMello joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2018 with the goal of increasing strength and getting overall healthier. He trains with Tony Quintanilha who has coached him to be in the best shape of his life. In addition to his physical strength, Ruben has also learned that “how you eat is just as important as how you train in achieving your fitness goals.” Ruben knew he was getting impressive results when he went on a mountain bike trip with a group of men 10 years his junior and was able to keep up the entire ride. His motivational quote is from Bruce Lee, “The successful warrior is the average man with laser-like focus.” Congratulations!
Joann Durfee has been a Seekonk Total Fitness member since March of 2017. She has always been into fitness and enjoys taking Spin classes along with working out with Walter’s Women of Steel group training. Eating healthier, maintaining balance, flexibility and muscle tone is Joann’s main goal now. When she’s not in the gym, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends along with bowling, walking, and yoga. Congratulations!
Patrick Mendonca joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in June 2018. He attends the gym 4-6 days per week and especially enjoys his training sessions with Personal Trainer, Teeana Rivera. Since the start of his training, Patrick’s arthritis pain has decreased, he’s lost weight, his sleep has improved and he has gained more self-confidence! A fitness tip Patrick would like to share is, “Don’t ignore your health problems – keep fighting and if you need help, get a personal trainer.” Teeana has changed his life in just a few months and he believes that all fitness levels can benefit by coming to DTF. Congratulations!
