Barbara Smith joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2013. She is a ray of sunshine with her friendly demeanor and her sharp wit! Eric Gomes joined Swansea Total Fitness in October 2007. He works out 4 to 5 times a week and occasionally participates in Yoga classes. Eric enjoys running on the treadmill, he says, “It’s a great way to get in shape and de-stress.” Eric maintains a healthy lifestyle by working out consistently and watching what he eats. Carolyn Thomas joined Seekonk Total Fitness in January 2012. She has always been into fitness, enjoys taking group fitness classes and personal training with Laurie. Carolyn feels stronger mentally and physically. She is also her husband’s caregiver and has benefited from her training to keep her healthy and strong. Carolyn’s goals now are to continue with the classes, training, maintaining balance, and flexibility. Reed Azevedo and Anwar Silvia joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in 2017. They work out together 5-7 days per week and enjoy squats, leg press, playing basketball and using medicine balls. Reed and Anwar agree that working out with a partner is very beneficial in helping you reach your goals. They push each other daily to be their best. Reed has gained 20lbs. and is super close to hitting his goal weight and Anwar’s training tip is, “Not to be discouraged if your partner is seeing more results, just be patient and stay motivated!” They love how friendly the DTF staff is and would like to shout out Larry for keeping the gym nice and clean! Marissa Moniz joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2016. She started working out at BTF during her summer breaks from college. After graduating, she now comes to the gym consistently 5 – 6 days a week. Marissa has recently grown to appreciate HIIT workouts. This summer, she lost 10 lbs. by increasing the intensity of her workouts and tracking her food. Marissa’s favorite fitness journey quote is by Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re probably right.” It’s all in your mindset. Marissa says, “You can do anything you set your mind to if you believe in yourself.” Congratulations! |
Ruben DeMello joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2018 with the goal of increasing strength and getting overall healthier. He trains with Tony Quintanilha who has coached him to be in the best shape of his life. In addition to his physical strength, Ruben has also learned that “how you eat is just as important as how you train in achieving your fitness goals.” Ruben knew he was getting impressive results when he went on a mountain bike trip with a group of men 10 years his junior and was able to keep up the entire ride. Joann Durfee has been a Seekonk Total Fitness member since March of 2017. She has always been into fitness and enjoys taking Spin classes along with working out with Walter’s Women of Steel group training. Eating healthier, maintaining balance, flexibility and muscle tone is Joann’s main goal now. When she’s not in the gym, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends along with bowling, walking, and yoga. Congratulations! |
Patrick Mendonca joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in June 2018. He attends the gym 4-6 days per week and especially enjoys his training sessions with Personal Trainer, Teeana Rivera. Since the start of his training, Patrick’s arthritis pain has decreased, he’s lost weight, his sleep has improved and he has gained more self-confidence! Francelina Amaral joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2015. She has always been into fitness but was afraid of weightlifting. Now Francelina does 80% weight training and 20% cardio. Her goal is to train harder and do another Spartan race. Francelina’s daughter is what motivates her to come to the gym every day. She wants to show her daughter that it’s okay to have muscles and curves. Francelina believes that girls are brainwashed into thinking that they have to be model thin to fit into society. Brenda Duquette joined Swansea Total Fitness in July 2018. She dedicates 4 to 5 days a week to her workouts and enjoys working with Personal Trainer, Tony Quintanilha. "He pushes me to do better and has helped me lose 20 pounds!” Brenda encourages others to track their foods, both good and bad. "You will only cheat yourself if you don't count everything". Flavian Lafleur joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in January of 2018. She attends the gym twice a week. Flavian especially enjoys her sessions with Personal Trainer, Erica Morency. She has some major bragging rights, too, considering Flavian has lost a staggering 176 lbs.! Erica consistently pushes her out of her comfort zone and when Flavian is having an off day, she is reminded of all she can accomplish now. A fitness tip Flavian would like to share is to “Never say can’t; try!” She also incorporates stretching into her fitness routine, as it helps alleviate her back pain. John Hamblett joined Bristol Total Fitness in September 2001 and works out diligently 5 - 6 days a week. He enjoys creating his own routines centered on weights with some cardio added for good measure. When asked about a “success” story or “bragging rights”, John’s endearing, dry humor sizzles: “I’ve become strong enough to wrestle an alligator, and now travel the East Coast extensively, riding golf courses and swimming pools of the pesky critters.”John’s tip on health & fitness: “No one routine nor one diet is better than any other. Marissa Moniz joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2016. She started working out at BTF during her summer breaks from college. After graduating, she now comes to the gym consistently 5 – 6 days a week. Marissa has recently grown to appreciate HIIT workouts. This summer, she lost 10 lbs. by increasing the intensity of her workouts and tracking her food. Ruben DeMello joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2018 with the goal of increasing strength and getting overall healthier. He trains with Tony Quintanilha who has coached him to be in the best shape of his life. In addition to his physical strength, Ruben has also learned that “how you eat is just as important as how you train in achieving your fitness goals.” Ruben knew he was getting impressive results when he went on a mountain bike trip with a group of men 10 years his junior and was able to keep up the entire ride. Joann Durfee has been a Seekonk Total Fitness member since March of 2017. She has always been into fitness and enjoys taking Spin classes along with working out with Walter’s Women of Steel group training.
