Nick Medeiros has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since 2015. He enjoys all aspects of the gym, but you can usually find him lifting. When asked if he had any success stories, Nick shared with us that he has lost a total of 30 pounds! Congratulations! This just goes to show that when you really put the time in, great results will follow. Nick says that a big part of having success is eating right and training right, you really can’t have one without the other if you’re really trying to make a difference. A personal quote about his fitness journey, “It’s gains o’clock.” We would like to congratulate Nick again and wish you nothing but continued success! |
Tim Irish has been a member of Swansea Total Fitness since 2013. He takes pride in being the “unpaid intern” who replaces the toilet paper when needed. Tim is an early exerciser, coming in by 6 each morning to get his workout in. Being a teacher at Case Jr High means he starts his day with a solid workout. Tim enjoys the classic rock music in the morning for his flexibility training. He says, “as you get older stretching and flexibility becomes more important.” Tim is dedicated to his stretching and flexibility, keeping in mind Nike’s motto “Just Do it.” He says, Manager Libby is the absolute best in the morning, which we agree! Alyson Beatty has been a Seekonk member since 2017. She has always been active, first with dancing, swimming, running, and now weightlifting along with cross fit training. The mind-body connection is what motivates Alyson to come to the gym. Remaining active and functional also helps out with running around after two little boys and pretty soon another. Outside the gym, she enjoys going to the beach, traveling and just basically spending time with her family. After having the baby, Alyson wants to focus on self-care and return to the gym as soon as possible. Congratulations! |
Claudia Jacobsen has been a member of Dartmouth Total Fitness since 2015. She attends the gym 5 days per week, participating in 10-13 group classes! Claudia has achieved many health benefits due to her commitment to fitness such as weight loss and seen improvements in muscle tone, stamina, balance and bone density. Liew Kah Foo, AKA “Danny,” joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2018. He attends the gym at least 6 days per week and is very dedicated to his fitness routine. Before focusing on his physical fitness, he spent a lot of time engaging in bad habits until he joined the gym. Danny then got involved in fitness competitions and got his personal trainer certification, awesome job! A fitness tip that he’d like to share is “Don’t use weights that are too heavy you can’t handle. There are no shortcuts! Learn the proper way and don’t give up.” Congratulations on the accomplishment, Danny! |
Ralph Pearson joined Swansea Total Fitness in August of 2015. He has been training since 1993, including bodybuilding competitions. Staying in the game for over twenty years is not easy for anyone, but Ralph takes it day by day and stays consistent. Working out for aesthetics is what got him into this journey, but staying healthy is what keeps him on track. In the recent months, Ralph has dropped some serious pounds and with intention of lowering his blood pressure but he also looks fantastic. We love seeing you in the gym, thanks for making us smile Ralph! |
Stephanie Parker joined Seekonk Total Fitness in December 2016. She’s always been into fitness but was always insecure about working out. Stephanie recently lost 70lbs and became more motivated about going to the gym. Running around after two little children is also what keeps her active. Stephanie’s happier and healthier now for her children and herself. Her current goal is to get more into weight lifting to tone her body. Stephanie loves being outside and spending time with her family. Congratulations! |
Craig Snell joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2015. He attends the gym 4-5 times per week and his favorite exercises include anything targeting his arms and back. Craig attributes his excellent work performance due to the time and commitment he puts into the gym. He believes that flexibility and form are a critical part of one’s fitness routine. Linda Dubois has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since January 2012. Her favorite exercise is anything that her trainer, Adriana, can throw at her. Linda likes to brag that even with Adriana kicking her butt, she’s still moving and she keeps coming back for more. Linda says, “As you get older, you have to work twice as hard for half the conditioning! Jackie Burgess-Conlon joined Swansea Total Fitness in September 2006, Nadine Gennaoui in September 2012, Linda Cuddigan in June 2011, Deb Thompson in October 2012 and Becky Turner in August 2012. Six years ago, in 2012 when Group Power was launched the ladies began taking the class regularly. They even followed the class to SWTF when it was relocated from SKTF. They all agree that the class has kept them motivated to go to the gym regularly. The routine and music change every three months so participants don’t get bored. The instructors are enthusiastic, well trained and motivating. Congratulations Ladies! |
Ariana Masi joined Seekonk Total Fitness in August of 2014. She started her fitness journey 7 years ago when she was 140lbs. heavier. Since losing all the weight, Ariana’s goals are to tone up and be stronger than she’s ever been. Her lifestyle change motivates her to come to the gym every day and eat healthy. Seeing progress and the post-workout feeling Ariana gets are what drives her fitness to the next level. She also hopes to inspire people with her story. Besides going to the gym, Ariana enjoys going to concerts, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Congratulations! |
Lori Monteiro joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2015. She attends the gym 5-6 times per week. She enjoys her one-on-one sessions with Personal Trainer, James Simmons, along with Julie F.’s Fever Fit and Spin classes with Julie & Julia. Lori has some major bragging rights too! She started her fitness journey in 2014 at 220lbs and is now over 50lbs lighter due to changes in her diet and active lifestyle! Jason Caetano has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since November 2016. His favorite exercise is weightlifting, which is extremely beneficial to his job with the Bristol Fire Department. To get started in the gym Jason trained with William Lemieux, since then he has branched out on his own and lost over 50 lbs. He attributes his success to his healthy diet and exercise. Jason would like to thank the staff of BTF for their support, he knows we will always be there for him. Karen Campos joined Swansea Total Fitness in October 2014. She works out at least five days a week, the “Spin Queen” of Total Fitness sometimes takes two Spin classes a day. Karen has Thyroid disease, but going to the gym on a regular basis, has helped her to maintain her weight. Her fitness goal is to stay focused and positive. Karen would like to thank the Spin instructors at Total Fitness – Joni, Tammy, Leslie, Laura, Libby, Peggy, Lizzie, and Ruth. “You guys Rock! Madeline Toste joined Seekonk Total Fitness in April 2014. She has been fit and active for most of her life. In 2014, at 51, Madeline was diagnosed with breast cancer. There was no more time for the gym, her time was spent in doctor’s offices, recuperating from biopsies or chemo which led to a bi-lateral mastectomy. In the years following Madeline’s cancer treatment, she was exhausted, 25lbs heavier and no longer had the energy she had prior to cancer. In January 2017, Madeline decided enough was enough. One year since working with Walter, she’s back to her pre-cancer weight. Madeline is now focused on becoming healthy, active, and fit. Congrats! |
Julie Milhoua joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in July 2013. Julie F.’s N Spire Fit, Spinning and James’ Boot Camp are some of the group exercise classes Julie enjoys. With Personal Trainer, Julie Fostin’s, support and encouragement, she has completed two half marathons and recovered from two major knee surgeries! One of the fitness tips she’d like to share is, “Consistency is key.” Julie also attributes some of her success to her gym family. “This place is like a second home to me. Karen Fisher joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2012. She attends the gym at least 4-5 times per week and loves to take Adriana’s Boot Camp classes. Karen is training to participate in her first Spartan Beast in May. Ashley Lockaby joined Swansea Total Fitness in July 2017. She trains 6-7 days a week. Ashley recently competed in the SWTF powerlifting competition and set two personal records – 280 lb. squat and 315 lb. deadlift. She has competed in NPC bodybuilding competitions for the past 3 years. Ashley suggests that you find what you enjoy and find what is sustainable! Greg Malo joined Seekonk Total Fitness in October 2015. He became serious about fitness as a collegiate athlete. During this time, Greg was taught the foundation of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. What motivates him to go to the gym at least five days a week is this quote by Jocko Willink ”There is no excuse to not get in the gym and get after it, five or six or seven days a week. You need one day off? Okay fine…but don’t take it today! Henry Zinno Jr. joined Bristol Total Fitness in February 2012. He enjoys doing a series of CrossFit-style exercise routines. After seeing a picture of himself while on a mission trip, Henry made a promise to himself that he was going change. Amy Sterne joined Swansea Total Fitness in September 2015. She joined for group fitness classes especially Yoga but has branched out and tried other classes. Amy has recently lost 20lbs. due to working hard on her diet and exercising. Dina Pichette joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2015 and Jenn Byrne joined in September 2014. They have always been into fitness, Jenn has been dancing for 13 years and Dina likes group fitness classes. For the last six months, they’ve enjoyed each other’s company working out together strength training and cardio. Adam Belue joined Swansea Total Fitness in February 2011. He started getting serious about his fitness routine in March 2017. Following two knee surgeries and physical therapy, Adam had to relearn how to walk and run. Since then he is back to playing tennis and hitting the gym hard. Adam has taught himself a lot about fitness and tracks his progress which helps him stay motivated. Stephen Evans joined Seekonk Total Fitness since April 2013. He started training with Walter after having surgeries on his wrist and shoulder. Stephen couldn’t have done it without Walters’ help. He never thought that he would be able to wake up early in the morning and go to the gym but has made it part of his routine to get his workout in before the start of his day. As far as his fitness journey goes, “It never ends!” Scott is an avid spinner and has participated in the American Cancer Society’s Pedal to End Cancer for the past two years. Marc Mello joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2012. He attends the gym five times per week and attributes much of his success to Personal Trainer, Dave Parker. Joe Silva joined Swansea Total Fitness in August 1999 and Sophia Sullivan joined in March 2013. This year he celebrated his 70th birthday by taking a Group Power class with his granddaughter, Sophia. Joe has a been a huge motivation for her to start her fitness journey. They take classes together regularly to stay motivated. Outside of the gym, Joe likes to cycle, be outside and spend time with his four grandchildren and Sophia is going to Fitchburg State University for elementary education. Corey Russell joined Seekonk Total Fitness in February 2010. He has always been into fitness, plays tennis and loves to jog. Corey’s main goals are maintaining the weight and improving his strength. Joan Miller joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2014. She attends the gym at least 3-4 times a week and trains with Dawn Casella. Joan enjoys all Pilates reformer and mat classes; she says that the group classes help her make new friends and they all encourage each other to create a motivating environment. Lizandra Costa joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2015. She has always been into fitness, in her younger years, she took dance classes to stay fit. Like many of us, after having her children, Lizandra got busy with life and gained 50 pounds. The consistency in coming almost every day, taking spin classes and training with Laurie Roderick led her to lose almost all the weight she gained along with the feeling of having her clothes fit better is motivation for her to keep going. Aubrey Silva joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in June of 2016. Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros
Participants will undertake a 10-week long program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off. Pamela Sampson joined Bristol Total Fitness in October 2016. Over the past thirteen months, she has lost a total of 120 pounds! Pam has gone from having difficulty walking to exercising for an hour and a half to two hours per day. She has eliminated diabetes and is in a much healthier place because of this lifestyle change. Pam says, “Don’t take fitness for granted. It’s difficult to get back once it’s gone.” Pam works out with a trainer, Will, and she enjoys the challenge that the session’s offer- they keep her motivated and have significantly increased her physical abilities as well. Chip Sousa joined Swansea Total Fitness in December of 2016. Over the last year, Chip has lost an astounding 185 pounds. He starts his workouts with heavy weight lifting because muscle is so important for overall strength and body composition, then does cardio, to stay the fat burning zone for ultimate results. “It’s not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle” is what Chip told us and he definitely lives up to that. In addition to hitting the gym six days a week, he says that diet is 99% of his success. Staying disciplined to your program is the only way to stay on track. Finn Martel joined Seekonk Total Fitness in August 2014. He’s been into fitness since Junior High where he began lifting and playing football. Finn lifted regularly with his older brother and his friends. His motivation to be in great shape brings him into the gym as much as possible. Finn is a firefighter and needs to stay fit in order to do his job effectively. His daily goals are staying focused and wanting to be the best version of his healthiest self. Finn’s constant drive is derived from wanting to set a healthy example for his young daughter. Thanks to the babysitting room at SKTF he is able to work out and have his daughter nearby. |
Branden Lincoln joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in December of 2015. He recently started training with personal trainer James Simmons and really enjoys the Muay Thai style training. Branden has lost 30 lbs which is an incredible testimony of his dedication to fitness. His philosophy is clean eating above everything – with the occasional splurge of course. Nick Medeiros has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since 2015. He enjoys all aspects of the gym, but you can usually find him lifting. When asked if he had any success stories, Nick shared with us that he has lost a total of 30 pounds! Congratulations! This just goes to show that when you really put the time in, great results will follow. Nick says that a big part of having success is eating right and training right, you really can’t have one without the other if you’re really trying to make a difference. Tim Irish has been a member of Swansea Total Fitness since 2013. He takes pride in being the “unpaid intern” who replaces the toilet paper when needed. Tim is an early exerciser, coming in by 6 each morning to get his workout in. Being a teacher at Case Jr High means he starts his day with a solid workout. Tim enjoys the classic rock music in the morning for his flexibility training. He says, “as you get older stretching and flexibility becomes more important.” Tim is dedicated to his stretching and flexibility, keeping in mind Nike’s motto “Just Do it.” He says, Manager Libby is the absolute best in the morning, which we agree! Claudia Jacobsen has been a member of Dartmouth Total Fitness since 2015. She attends the gym 5 days per week, participating in 10-13 group classes! Claudia has achieved many health benefits due to her commitment to fitness such as weight loss and seen improvements in muscle tone, stamina, balance and bone density. Liew Kah Foo, AKA “Danny,” joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2018. He attends the gym at least 6 days per week and is very dedicated to his fitness routine. Before focusing on his physical fitness, he spent a lot of time engaging in bad habits until he joined the gym. Danny then got involved in fitness competitions and got his personal trainer certification, awesome job! A fitness tip that he’d like to share is “Don’t use weights that are too heavy you can’t handle. There are no shortcuts! Learn the proper way and don’t give up.” Congratulations on the accomplishment, Danny!
Ralph Pearson joined Swansea Total Fitness in August of 2015. He has been training since 1993, including bodybuilding competitions. Staying in the game for over twenty years is not easy for anyone, but Ralph takes it day by day and stays consistent. Working out for aesthetics is what got him into this journey, but staying healthy is what keeps him on track. In the recent months, Ralph has dropped some serious pounds and with intention of lowering his blood pressure but he also looks fantastic. We love seeing you in the gym, thanks for making us smile Ralph!
Stephanie Parker joined Seekonk Total Fitness in December 2016. She’s always been into fitness but was always insecure about working out. Stephanie recently lost 70lbs and became more motivated about going to the gym. Running around after two little children is also what keeps her active. Stephanie’s happier and healthier now for her children and herself. Her current goal is to get more into weight lifting to tone her body. Stephanie loves being outside and spending time with her family. Congratulations!
Craig Snell joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2015. He attends the gym 4-5 times per week and his favorite exercises include anything targeting his arms and back. Craig attributes his excellent work performance due to the time and commitment he puts into the gym. He believes that flexibility and form are a critical part of one’s fitness routine. Because of Craig’s dedication to health and fitness, he is able to perform well throughout all aspects of his life. Linda Dubois has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since January 2012. Her favorite exercise is anything that her trainer, Adriana, can throw at her. Linda likes to brag that even with Adriana kicking her butt, she’s still moving and she keeps coming back for more. Linda says, “As you get older, you have to work twice as hard for half the conditioning! Jackie Burgess-Conlon joined Swansea Total Fitness in September 2006, Nadine Gennaoui in September 2012, Linda Cuddigan in June 2011, Deb Thompson in October 2012 and Becky Turner in August 2012. Six years ago, in 2012 when Group Power was launched the ladies began taking the class regularly. They even followed the class to SWTF when it was relocated from SKTF. They all agree that the class has kept them motivated to go to the gym regularly. The routine and music change every three months so participants don’t get bored. The instructors are enthusiastic, well trained and motivating. Congratulations Ladies!
Ariana Masi joined Seekonk Total Fitness in August of 2014. She started her fitness journey 7 years ago when she was 140lbs. heavier. Since losing all the weight, Ariana’s goals are to tone up and be stronger than she’s ever been. Her lifestyle change motivates her to come to the gym every day and eat healthy. Seeing progress and the post-workout feeling Ariana gets are what drives her fitness to the next level. She also hopes to inspire people with her story. Besides going to the gym, Ariana enjoys going to concerts, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Congratulations!
Lori Monteiro joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2015. She attends the gym 5-6 times per week. She enjoys her one-on-one sessions with Personal Trainer, James Simmons, along with Julie F.’s Fever Fit and Spin classes with Julie & Julia. Lori has some major bragging rights too! She started her fitness journey in 2014 at 220lbs and is now over 50lbs lighter due to changes in her diet and active lifestyle! A fitness tip Lori would like to share is, “Try and find constant motivation and surround yourself with people who support your goals.” She has a great attitude and believes “Six feet above ground is a good day.” Congratulations!

Jason Caetano has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since November 2016. His favorite exercise is weightlifting, which is extremely beneficial to his job with the Bristol Fire Department. To get started in the gym Jason trained with William Lemieux, since then he has branched out on his own and lost over 50 lbs. He attributes his success to his healthy diet and exercise. Jason would like to thank the staff of BTF for their support, he knows we will always be there for him. Karen Campos joined Swansea Total Fitness in October 2014. She works out at least five days a week, the “Spin Queen” of Total Fitness sometimes takes two Spin classes a day. Karen has Thyroid disease, but going to the gym on a regular basis, has helped her to maintain her weight. Her fitness goal is to stay focused and positive. Karen would like to thank the Spin instructors at Total Fitness – Joni, Tammy, Leslie, Laura, Libby, Peggy, Lizzie, and Ruth. “You guys Rock! Madeline Toste joined Seekonk Total Fitness in April 2014. She has been fit and active for most of her life. In 2014, at 51, Madeline was diagnosed with breast cancer. There was no more time for the gym, her time was spent in doctor’s offices, recuperating from biopsies or chemo which led to a bi-lateral mastectomy. In the years following Madeline’s cancer treatment, she was exhausted, 25lbs heavier and no longer had the energy she had prior to cancer. In January 2017, Madeline decided enough was enough. One year since working with Walter, she’s back to her pre-cancer weight. Madeline is now focused on becoming healthy, active, and fit. Congrats!
Julie Milhoua joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in July 2013. Julie F.’s N Spire Fit, Spinning and James’ Boot Camp are some of the group exercise classes Julie enjoys. With Personal Trainer, Julie Fostin’s, support and encouragement, she has completed two half marathons and recovered from two major knee surgeries! One of the fitness tips she’d like to share is, “Consistency is key.” Julie also attributes some of her success to her gym family. “This place is like a second home to me. Between some of the staff and members, I’ve found some amazing friends. It helps me to stay committed to being healthy!” Thank you and Congratulations, Julie!

Karen Fisher joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2012. She attends the gym at least 4-5 times per week and loves to take Adriana’s Boot Camp classes. Karen is training to participate in her first Spartan Beast in May. She has also completed two Tough Mudders in the past, as well as her first Olympic triathlon, and over a half dozen obstacle course races. “Finding a workout that is fun and you can enjoy makes a big difference. I look forward to my time at the gym. Adriana is awesome and has trained me to not only be competitive in the race but has also improved my fitness level.” Congratulations!
Ashley Lockaby joined Swansea Total Fitness in July 2017. She trains 6-7 days a week. Ashley recently competed in the SWTF powerlifting competition and set two personal records – 280 lb. squat and 315 lb. deadlift. She has competed in NPC bodybuilding competitions for the past 3 years. Ashley suggests that you find what you enjoy and find what is sustainable! You can always find a fun way to burn calories and incorporate the foods you love in moderation. Something she truly believes is that “it’s the toughest days that make you grow stronger! Don’t give up, because not even you know what you are truly capable of until you push the limits!”
Greg Malo joined Seekonk Total Fitness in October 2015. He became serious about fitness as a collegiate athlete. During this time, Greg was taught the foundation of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. What motivates him to go to the gym at least five days a week is this quote by Jocko Willink ”There is no excuse to not get in the gym and get after it, five or six or seven days a week. You need one day off? Okay fine…but don’t take it today! Put that day off in the bank for when you really need it.” Greg’s goal for 2018 is to train harder and eat cleaner in an effort to become the healthiest possible version of himself. Congratulations!
Kerry Gowell joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in December 2014. He commits to working out 5-6 times a week and enjoys anything Personal Trainer, Stacia Abdow, has to throw at him. Since joining Total Fitness, Kerry has not only lost weight, but he has significantly improved his golf game, thanks to Personal Trainer, Jodi Garie. His advice to everyone is very straightforward – “Just show up” and “Fatigue is all in your head!” Kerry would also like to note that Dartmouth Total Fitness has the “best staff on the Southcoast!” Thank you, Kerry. Henry Zinno Jr. joined Bristol Total Fitness in February 2012. He enjoys doing a series of CrossFit-style exercise routines. After seeing a picture of himself while on a mission trip, Henry made a promise to himself that he was going change. He is now down 30lbs, has gained muscle and improved his blood pressure. “I’m 62 years old, and I haven’t seen this weight or muscle strength since I was in my 20s! Be consistent with your fitness routine and combine it with a program to keep your spiritual health in shape as well. Find a mentor who will challenge you, like my friend Rob did for me.” Way to go, Father Zinno! Congratulations!
Amy Sterne joined Swansea Total Fitness in September 2015. She joined for group fitness classes especially Yoga but has branched out and tried other classes. Amy has recently lost 20lbs. due to working hard on her diet and exercising. She loves that the gym has so many options on how to exercise and feels like she has learned so much about fitness and nutrition. Amy recently began weight training with Abby Cabral and says that “You don’t always realize what you can do until someone pushes you.” She says everyone at the gym, staff, and members are very kind and helpful. Dina Pichette joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2015 and Jenn Byrne joined in September 2014. They have always been into fitness, Jenn has been dancing for 13 years and Dina likes group fitness classes. For the last six months, they’ve enjoyed each other’s company working out together strength training and cardio. Dina & Jenn’s desire to be physically fit and overall staying healthy is what motivates them to come to the gym at least five days a week. They are both so close to achieving their ideal weight and having a six pack before the summer. Nice job girls!!
Donna Valente joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in October 2013. She trains weekly with Personal Trainer, Jodi Garie. Donna’s fitness routine is changed regularly to keep her challenged. Since she started training Donna is healthier and stronger than she has ever been. One of Donna’s fitness tips she’d like to share is “Working with a trainer keeps you focused and on track! Grace To joined Bristol Total Fitness in March 2012. She likes to come to the gym once a day, and really enjoys doing different combinations of weights and exercises to keep improving her fitness level. Grace says that it helps to put her in a better mood and state of mind. Adam Belue joined Swansea Total Fitness in February 2011. He started getting serious about his fitness routine in March 2017. Following two knee surgeries and physical therapy, Adam had to relearn how to walk and run. Since then he is back to playing tennis and hitting the gym hard. Adam has taught himself a lot about fitness and tracks his progress which helps him stay motivated. He says there are really no excuses to not come to the gym, you have to stick with it and make your own routine. Adam, thank you for sticking with it. We love seeing you in the gym! Congratulations!
Stephen Evans joined Seekonk Total Fitness since April 2013. He started training with Walter after having surgeries on his wrist and shoulder. Stephen couldn’t have done it without Walters’ help. He never thought that he would be able to wake up early in the morning and go to the gym but has made it part of his routine to get his workout in before the start of his day. His goals are to try to stay consistent and to stay healthy. Stephen, you’re doing a fantastic job! Keep up the great work!
Scott Deterra joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in July 2018. As far as his fitness journey goes, “It never ends!” Scott is an avid spinner and has participated in the American Cancer Society’s Pedal to End Cancer for the past two years. He attributes his success to the DTF Spinning instructors. Scott would like to give a special shout-out to instructors Julie and Carrie, for always pushing him, even if it means Carrie having to turn the knob! He enjoys his time at the gym and wants to note that the “personnel are always polite and courteous.” One fitness tip Scott would like to share is, “Don’t settle on one routine.” Keep up the great work! Marc Mello joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2012. He attends the gym five times per week and attributes much of his success to Personal Trainer, Dave Parker. Over the last few years, Marc has participated in several 5k races and accomplished things that beforehand he never would have been able to. Marc says, “Be consistent, disciplined, and always challenge yourself. Don’t settle for good – be great.” Marc says that Dave has played a huge role in keeping him focused and driven every training session. “Working with him is the best decision I’ve ever made. Joe Silva joined Swansea Total Fitness in August 1999 and Sophia Sullivan joined in March 2013. This year he celebrated his 70th birthday by taking a Group Power class with his granddaughter, Sophia. Joe has a been a huge motivation for her to start her fitness journey. They take classes together regularly to stay motivated. Outside of the gym, Joe likes to cycle, be outside and spend time with his four grandchildren and Sophia is going to Fitchburg State University for elementary education. Joe truly is a great role model and his advice is “don’t quit”. His consistency keeps him feeling and looking great. Congrats to the dynamic duo!
Corey Russell joined Seekonk Total Fitness in February 2010. He has always been into fitness, plays tennis and loves to jog. Corey’s main goals are maintaining the weight and improving his strength. He says, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint, a little bit every day.” Living a long life with his family is what motivates him to do just that in the gym. Besides working and attending the gym regularly, Corey can be seen enjoying the day playing golf or skiing. Keep up the great work and congratulations!
Diane Souza joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in June 2014. She trains with Personal Trainer, Stacia Abdow and participates in her Fit Body Boot Camp each week. “Stacia pushes me to reach my maximum potential and I am in the best shape of my life because of her!” Diane encourages everyone to do the best they can each day and not to give up. Joan Miller joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2014. She attends the gym at least 3-4 times a week and trains with Dawn Casella. Joan enjoys all Pilates reformer and mat classes; she says that the group classes help her make new friends and they all encourage each other to create a motivating environment. She has lost a total of 25 pounds, continues to increase her flexibility and is reaping the health benefits that come with weight loss. Joan had shoulder surgery in 2012 and says that Dawn has been a great motivator in her recovery. Her health and fitness tip, “Don’t give up! Always push yourself.” We couldn’t agree more! Congrats!
Marcy Cowell joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2017. In the year that she has been a member, Marcy has already completed two major goals: Running her first 5K at the Swansea Total Fitness Thanksgiving Race and can deadlift 135lbs! Training with Tony Quintanilha twice a week has given Marcy the confidence to achieve these goals and to keep striving for more! She says that training with Tony is fun because he has a great personality, keeps workouts exciting, motivating and challenging. Lizandra Costa joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2015. She has always been into fitness, in her younger years, she took dance classes to stay fit. Like many of us, after having her children, Lizandra got busy with life and gained 50 pounds. The consistency in coming almost every day, taking spin classes and training with Laurie Roderick led her to lose almost all the weight she gained along with the feeling of having her clothes fit better is motivation for her to keep going. When Lizandra is not in the gym, she enjoys reading, watching her favorite shows, and baking. Keep up the great work! Congratulations!
Aubrey Silva joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in June of 2016. Her favorite days of the week are Tuesdays when she gets to train with James in his Total Body Fitness group training, as well as Thursdays when she participates in his boot camp class! Aubrey adds, “When I’m not training in class, I love going to the gym with my favorite workout partner, Sarah Petitpas.” Aubrey has earned some major bragging rights too – Completing two Spartan Sprint Races at Fenway Park. Pamela Sampson joined Bristol Total Fitness in October 2016. Over the past thirteen months, she has lost a total of 120 pounds! Pam has gone from having difficulty walking to exercising for an hour and a half to two hours per day. She has eliminated diabetes and is in a much healthier place because of this lifestyle change. Pam says, “Don’t take fitness for granted. It’s difficult to get back once it’s gone.” Pam works out with a trainer, Will, and she enjoys the challenge that the session’s offer- they keep her motivated and have significantly increased her physical abilities as well. Chip Sousa joined Swansea Total Fitness in December of 2016. Over the last year, Chip has lost an astounding 185 pounds. He starts his workouts with heavy weight lifting because muscle is so important for overall strength and body composition, then does cardio, to stay the fat burning zone for ultimate results. “It’s not a hobby, it’s a lifestyle” is what Chip told us and he definitely lives up to that. In addition to hitting the gym six days a week, he says that diet is 99% of his success. Staying disciplined to your program is the only way to stay on track. Chip says it’s been nothing but a great experience at SWTF because of the great staff. Congrats Chip!
Finn Martel joined Seekonk Total Fitness in August 2014. He’s been into fitness since Junior High where he began lifting and playing football. Finn lifted regularly with his older brother and his friends. His motivation to be in great shape brings him into the gym as much as possible. Finn is a firefighter and needs to stay fit in order to do his job effectively. His daily goals are staying focused and wanting to be the best version of his healthiest self. Finn’s constant drive is derived from wanting to set a healthy example for his young daughter. Thanks to the babysitting room at SKTF he is able to work out and have his daughter nearby.
Branden Lincoln joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in December of 2015. He recently started training with personal trainer James Simmons and really enjoys the Muay Thai style training. Branden has lost 30 lbs which is an incredible testimony of his dedication to fitness. His philosophy is clean eating above everything – with the occasional splurge of course. When thinking about his fitness journey, Branden reminds himself that success is found by “Seeking the uncomfortable”.
