Total Fitness Food Drive
Total Fitness is teaming up with the United Way for our annual food drive. We will be collecting non-perishable items such as dry pasta, can goods, rice, mac & cheese and instant mashed potatoes for families in need. There will be a bin to put your donations in the gym foyer, or it can be handed to the front desk.

Ariana Masi joined Bristol Total Fitness in August 2014. She works out 6 days a week, and enjoys weight training especially leg day! Ariana’s fitness journey began on June 2011 when she was 16 yrs. old. She has lost 140 lbs and says that going to the gym consistently has helped her maintain the weight loss, made her feel stronger and more confident. Ariana's fitness tip is to continue to work hard “because hard work pays off!” She reminds us that change doesn’t happen overnight, so don’t get discouraged. “Once you believe in yourself, anything is possible. Love yourself first.” Congratulations!

Marco Valzovano has been a member at Bristol Total Fitness since 2014. He is very committed to fitness, working out every day of the week! Marco's workouts are a combination of strength training and cardio. He is often seen running on the treadmill logging as much as 8 miles per workout. Marco shared that he was a “really overweight kid” who began dieting and exercising at a young age. He has been consistently “active” for 15 years. Jack and Toni Corry joined Bristol Total Fitness in April 2014. Toni attends the gym 5–6 times a week; Jack attends 3-4 times a week and claims “he can’t keep up with his wife!” Jack enjoys weight machines and treadmill and focuses on a routine for overall good health. Toni's favorite class is Spin and finds attending the gym with her husband a great incentive: “We push each other especially on those days when we don’t want to go to the gym.” Jack encourages others to remember the number on the scale is only a number . . .”it’s all about how you feel!” Congratulations to you both!

Gayle Twaddle joined Bristol Total Fitness in early 2019. She consistently attends her favorite classes, Silver Sneakers and Senior Fitness three days a week. Gayle credits the classes and the fun group of ladies with “keeping her sane!” Her terrific health and fitness tip is to “just show up.” Gayle shares that attending the group exercise classes have helped her health both mentally and physically. She kindly added that the gym staff has been wonderful and that instructor, Sue DeFusco, is “the best ever!” Our best to Gayle in her continued commitment to health and wellness!

Arthur Lawrence joined Bristol Total Fitness in December 2009. He is committed to working out of 3-4 times per week. Nine years ago, Arthur decided to focus on his health and fitness. He joined the gym, started working with a nutritionist at Evolution Nutrition and lost 45 lbs. Arther has maintained terrific health and fitness. He recommends preparing a normal-size plate of food, then splitting it in half and saving that other half for the next meal. Arthur follows this routine with his meals, and it has worked successfully for both losing the weight and keeping it off. His fitness tip: “Strive each day to maintain your health and fitness.”

Sugar Shakedown with Adriana Ferns

Nicole Clement joined Bristol Total Fitness in April 2018. She has been working out 5-6 days per week for many months in preparation for her first bikini fitness competition. Nicole just took two 1st place finishes and one 3rd place finish in her very first competition! Her fitness advice: “trust the process, get a coach, and there are vegan options for meeting your protein needs!” Nicole shared her thoughts about the fitness journey: “There will be days you don’t want to go (to the gym), go anyway! There will be days you don’t want to stay the course, stay the course! If you trust the process, you will never fail.” Congratulations!

Pedal To End Cancer - Thank You!
Total donations from our annual Total Fitness Clubs fundraiser Pedal to End Cancer- 78 participants raised over $12,000 for the American Cancer Society through this year's event! We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause. We're especially proud of Total Fitness Member, Linda Manchester who was the Top 'Pedal to End Cancer 2018' Fundraiser in all of New England, for raising $975.00!"

Ray Masse joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2002. He enjoys working out five days a week. Ray's exercise routine includes 45 minutes of cardio on the treadmill followed by upper and lower body weight training. When he started his working out, he lost 15 lbs. and added lean muscle. Ray is fit and feeling great at 76 yrs. old! His health tip: “It’s never too late to start a fitness program, even for advanced-aged folks like me!” and even his doctor has said “keep doing what you’re doing! Pedal To End Cancer
Pedal to End Cancer, formerly Spin for Hope, is a three-hour SPINNING event taking place simultaneously at participating health clubs around New England. 100% of the contributions go directly to the American Cancer Society!
This is really just a giant Spin Party for a great cause! With over 80 participants last year, Total Fitness raised almost $66,500 for the ACS through this event!

Kyle Walker joined Bristol Total Fitness in March 2016. As a Fall River firefighter with a rigorous schedule, he trains to maintain his health and fitness. Team Burpee Challenge
A fitness fundraiser to support The Potter League for Animals. They are located in Middletown, RI and provide shelter and care for lost or unwanted companion animals. The Potter League are committed to enhancing the lives of animals in their care and fostering relationships between the animals and people. Click here for more about their mission.
Burpee Challenge Details: Each Team Burpee competitor will start the challenge on Feb. 1 with a goal of completing 500 burpees by Feb. 28. The 500 count will be split up with a recommended number of burpees completed each day/week. For each $1 collected, each competitor will do an extra burpee above and beyond the 500 count! Our goal is to collect over $500 in donations.

Pedal To End Cancer
Pedal to End Cancer, formerly Spin for Hope, is a three-hour SPINNING event taking place simultaneously at participating health clubs around New England. 100% of the contributions go directly to the American Cancer Society!
This is really just a giant Spin Party for a great cause! With over 80 participants last year, Total Fitness raised almost $66,500 for the ACS through this event!

Mix It Up with Dawn Casella
Break out of the monotony of the circuit by using TRX, cable weights, free weights, gliders, and bands. Dawn will motivate, keep you focused and accountable. The support and camaraderie from participants will keep you on track toward your fitness goals. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros
Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.
Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Space is limited, participants must sign up 1 week in advance and pay for 1/2 of the program to reserve a spot. (Friday - min. 3 max. 6 participants) (Saturday - min. 3 max. 8 participants)

TRX Suspension Training with Adriana Ferns
Break out from your old routine and join Adriana for this 8-week program. TRX is a form of suspension training used to perform total body workouts with exercises that engage your core while using your own bodyweight for resistance. Adriana will use TRX to take your resistance training to a new level through functional and dynamic movements, perfect for any age and any fitness level. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

This 8-week group training will prepare you for the next phase of obstacle course racing. With Adriana's guidance, you will build a foundation along with the tools you'll need for your upcoming race. The program includes nutritional guidance to get you ripped, meal plan and body composition to achieve maximum benefits. Enjoy the comradery of training with like-minded participants even if an obstacle race isn't in your near future. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Woman of Steel with Walter Medeiros
Join this 8-week progressive strength-training program for women focusing on all aspects of fitness including cardiovascular & muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. Participants will enjoy the camaraderie of working with a group in a fun and encouraging atmosphere to achieve results. Workouts will consist of weight, balance and flexibility training with cardio intervals to focus on core strength. All fitness levels welcome. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

MEMBERS THAT INSPIRE US
Mike and Alyssa Gaudreau joined Bristol Total Fitness in 2006. They both run and attend the gym daily. Mike, is a dedicated runner, completes 3 miles each day followed by weight training, focusing on 1 body part per day. Alyssa’s routine is running 3 miles in her limited workout time of 30 minutes or doing interval training on the treadmill. Her weight training days incorporate what she learned while working with trainer Erin Ward for several years. Alyssa’s tip for health and fitness: “Find the balance that works for you.” Mike adds: “You can never drink enough water, eat enough vegetables, or sleep enough hours.”
