Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week long program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Members that Inspire Us


Chloe Headrick joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2014. She’s at the gym at least 6 days a week. Her biggest accomplishment since joining is “Being accepted at the United States Military Academy at West Point. The intense training for the physical portion of the application payed off. It’s all a mental game, once your head is in the game, you can do anything.” We couldn’t agree anymore! Chloe also wanted to thank BTF Personal Trainer, Will Lemieux. She said that without him she couldn’t have gotten to where she is, “especially the hot days on the track”. Congratulations Chloe! All your hard work and dedication is inspiration to us all!
Dan Serdynski joined Swansea Total Fitness in October of 2008. With Autism he makes sure he comes to the gym 5 days a week. Dan follows a weight lifting along with a cardio program and challenges himself each workout. His favorite workout is biceps. When Dan first started working out he was 205 pounds and has since lost 30 pounds! What he likes about working out at SWTF is that the staff and members are amazing. Inspirational quote, “When an autistic young man reaches for the goal, he puts his heart and soul to earn it.” Congratulations Dan you are an inspiration to us all!
Michelle Mozzone joined Seekonk Total Fitness in July 2016. After Christmas she decided to set a goal to lose 10 pounds. Michelle started to keep a food journal, working out with SKTF Personal Trainer, Walter Medeiros twice a week and doing cardio at home. She has lost 8 pounds and feels stronger and healthier. Seeing the results from her hard work has made Michelle even more motivated. In her free time, she enjoys teaching, painting in her studio working towards her show coming up in August along with cooking and gardening when she isn’t killing it at the gym. Way to go Michelle keep up the great work!
Margaret Prior joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in April 2014. She works out 3-4 times a week and enjoys working out one-on-one along with group training classes with trainer Stacia Abdow. All of that sure paid off for Margaret when she became the DTF 2017 Fitness Challenge 3rd place winner! “I decided to dedicate myself to weight loss and pursued it as a lifestyle change.” Margaret’s journey continues citing “success” as her fuel. “The more results I see, the harder I work!” Margaret compliments DTF friendly staff and the cleanliness of the facility and credits those factors for making it so easy to keep coming back! Total Fitness Pet Drive

Total Fitness is teaming up with Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River for a pet supplies drive. We will be collecting pet supplies, treats, food, etc. to donate to animals in need. There will be a box to put your pet items in, or it can be handed to the front desk. See our shelter table in the foyer for a more detailed list of supplies.

Pedal To End Cancer – Thank You!

We had another full house at our annual Total Fitness Clubs fundraiser – 85 participants raised over $58,000 for the American Cancer Society through this year’s event! We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause. We’re especially proud of Total Fitness Member, Andrea Alexander, who was the Top ‘Pedal to End Cancer 2017’ Fundraiser in all of New England, for raising $48,425!”

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week long program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Members that Inspire Us


Brandon Williams joined Bristol Total Fitness in November 2007. You can find him in the gym 4-5 times a week. His workout consists a mix of hang cleans, kettlebell swings, single leg exercises, core and more. We asked Brandon why he trains “I’m the head Strength and Conditioning Coach for U-Mass Dartmouth, I need to be a great example for the student athletes I work with”. His advice to anyone is “Keep it simple, don’t make it harder than it has to be”. We completely agree with you. Congratulations and keep up the amazing work!
Stacy Alexander joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2016. In 2017, she started training 5 hours a week with Jim Nolan and since then has found a new strength and appreciation for her fitness. Stacy says, “That every day I feel stronger and love it when I can add more weight to my exercises. I have come to love my body in a new way and I’m focusing on getting plenty of rest, fueling my body with clean eats and being faithful to my workouts.” Stacy loves coming in for her workouts because the staff at the front desk is really friendly and her trainer Jim Nolan encourages her to break through barriers while keeping workouts fun!
Michael Thompson joined Seekonk Total Fitness in January 2017. He started out in the 6 Weeks to Wellness Program to help him develop a healthy living style. Michael wants to lose weight and gain muscle tone while maintaining a healthy diet. Outside of the gym, Michael likes to spend time with his family and takes care of his 103 year old grandmother, who is remarkable. His biggest motivations for coming to the gym is the friendly atmosphere and his personal training sessions with Laurie. Michael also is motivated by seeing the results of his structured workout program and coming in daily for cardio and strength training. Great work Michael!
Peter Mello Sr. and Patrick Mello joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in 2012. They are an excellent example of how a father’s encouragement can lead to a positive bonding experience. You can find Peter and Patrick training together in the free weight area pushing each other to the limit. The two agree that success is a combination of eating well and hard work – “there is no other way”.  Peter and Patrick understand the importance of consistency in training and we love seeing them work hard together. Members that Inspire Us


Dustin Archambault joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2014. He attends the gym 6 times a week. Dustin has always been dedicated to working out, it wasn’t until he proposed to, his now wife, Melinda, that he really focused. Since then he has lost a total of 70 lbs. and is only 5 lbs. away from his goal weight of 185! Dustin’s fitness tip to everyone is “Drink more water! I can’t say that enough” and his favorite quote about his fitness journey is “If you want it bad enough, you will do whatever it takes”.  We could not agree with you more and your progress shows it. Keep up the awesome work Dustin, we are so proud of you!
William Horin joined Swansea Total Fitness in November of 2016. He trains with Abby Cabral three times a week. At 91 years young Bill began to working out after he sustained a compression fracture of his spine. He says, “His recovery has been a long haul, but rewarding! Abby is a wonderful trainer, she pushes me hard, is very patient and has helped me regain so much strength!” Bill’s health tip for longevity is to stay active and keep exercising. Bill enjoys coming to SWTF, “The staff are super friendly and helpful!” Keep up the good work! You are truly amazing Bill!
Kelly Currier joined Seekonk Total Fitness in March 2016. Since the age of 13, fitness has always been a huge part of her life. Kelly’s fitness goal is to add muscle while staying feminine and toned. Her biggest motivators are having someone to train with, having goals, and the fact that she always feels better mentally and physically after putting the time in at the gym. Along with weight training, Kelly was an acrobat, ballerina, and played baseball. Her love for health and fitness is not only seen at the gym, but also at work and is the reason she became a dietician. Keep up the great work Kelly!
Lee-Ann Corbett joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in May 2016 and is committed to coming 5 days a week. Currently, she is in her first bikini competition prep with Team Body Rock and trains with Bryna Gotlib once a week to help her in this process. While training is important, Lee-Ann stresses “Diet, diet, diet!” as a key to success. On any fitness journey, she advises to “Focus on what motivates you” and that “finding happiness is a choice.” Lee-Ann says, the staff at DTF is “awesome, supportive and fun!” and that keeps her coming back week after week! Pedal to End Cancer, formerly Spin for Hope, is a three hour SPINNING event taking place simultaneously at participating health clubs around New England. 100% of the contributions go directly to the American Cancer Society!

This is really just a giant Spin Party for a great cause! With over 80 participants last year, Total Fitness raised almost $60,000 for the ACS through this event!

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week long program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Steve Viscione has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since 2001. He attends the gym 5 days per week enjoying Yoga classes, free weights and training for 5k’s. The sense of community and camaraderie has kept Steve coming back for so long. He believes consistency is the key to success and that “90% of life is showing up”. As a 15 year member, he practices what he preaches! Congratulations Steve!
Nicole Phillips has been a member of Swansea Total Fitness since April 2013. She works out at least 5 days a week. Nicole’s favorite workout is leg day followed by shoulders. Since last summer, she has lost nearly 20lbs. Nicole believes in mixing up your workouts and stepping out of your comfort zone. Get comfortable with uncomfortable! Her favorite quote is by Katrin Davidsdottir “Be the best me! No comparisons, no disappointments, be proud of your best!” Nicole says, she is very grateful for SWTF! David Galbraith has been a member of Seekonk Total Fitness since March 2016. He joined to get fit, lose weight and to feel good about himself. David comes to the gym at least 5 days a week and his favorite days at the gym are chest and shoulders. You can also find him in the Spin room once or twice a week sweating it out with Lizzie! David is a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoys hanging out with his kids who are 16 & 21 years old. His favorite thing about Seekonk Total Fitness is the friendly staff who make his favorite shake, Berry Blast! Keep up the great work David!
Mike Costa joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in April 2010. He is in the gym 5 days a week and focuses on specific muscle groups daily for a full body workout by the end of the week. As a firefighter Mike’s job can be taxing. “Being in good condition is a must, especially being on call 24/7.” You can regularly find him in the gym working out and talking with other members. As friendly as Mike is, he still sticks to his training and takes it seriously. “Consistency is the answer to good conditioning”. Between working out hard, Mike enjoys his interactions with the members and staff alike. Congratulations Mike!

Complimentary Movement Screenings

Dr. Moore and Dr. Aunkst will be offering complimentary movement screens with associated soft tissue treatments. Each participant can expect to be screened and treated accordingly. The Drs. will spend roughly 10-15 minutes with each participant. Members that Inspire Us


Merle Siegel joined Bristol Total Fitness in September of 2015. She attends the gym 4-5 times per week and trains with Adriana Ferns. Making the gym part of her daily routine has been helpful. “I never thought that I would actually look forward to coming to the gym. Adriana has been incredibly supportive and encouraging. She has shown me that I am capable of exercises that I never imagined myself doing and has become a true friend and mentor”. Merle has quite a few goals this year stating, “This year I will be stronger, braver, kinder and unstoppable. This year I will be fierce!” Congratulations Merle, we can’t wait to see you achieve this year’s goals!
Brendon Garrity joined Swansea Total Fitness in February of 2016. He joined the gym needing to lose weight for health reasons. Brendon weighed 275lbs and has lost 88lbs. His fitness tip is to stay consistent even when you may not be noticing a change of any kind; as long as you push yourself, stay with your program and watch what you eat – it will go a long way toward your goals. Brendon says, “The staff at SWTF are really nice and helpful. I love that the gym is not too big, never overcrowded and is always clean. All in all I can definitely say this is the best gym experience I have ever had thanks to Total Fitness!” Keep up the good work Brendon!
Alex Joyal has been a member of Seekonk Total Fitness since May 2013 and Jodie Somerville has been a member since July 2014. You know what they say, couples who train together stay together! They met in school at Penn State and moved here for work. Alex works for USPS and is in Law School at RWU and Jodie is a Pre-K teacher. When they first started dating, Alex shared his passion for fitness with Jodie and now she also loves coming to the gym. Alex even has goals of doing a body building show this year! In their free time they enjoy going out to eat, movies and Netflix and they definitely earn it.
Brian Dorsky joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in 2008 and makes it in at least 5 times a week! He always enjoyed sports but discovered his new love for weight lifting/power lifting. When asked about his favorite lift – “Squats – All squats!” Brian might be a fan of squat variations, but at a power lifting meet, he was able to break the deadlift record and total record in his division (New England). Brians fitness tip is for people to adopt a routine they enjoy following and will actually stick to. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint” when it comes to working towards your fitness goals. As for his thoughts on DTF – “Best staff around.” Congratulations Brian!

Club Wide Coat Drive

Total Fitness Clubs are teaming up with One Warm Coat in the month of January to help our local families in need. There will be a bin at each club where you can place your gently used or new coats. Join us to help our community stay warm during the winter months by “Warming Communities… One Warm Coat at a Time”. All coats will be donated to Ferry Street Ministries, Inc in Fall River.

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake an 10-week long program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Wendy Carey has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since January of 2016. She’s trained with Adriana Ferns since joining. Since January 2015 Wendy has lost a 116 pounds! Her success has been fueled not only by her workouts but also by eating clean and completing Adriana’s Sugar Shakedown.” I have never felt better! I have more energy and stamina. I no longer am a slave to sugar!” One last piece of advice from Wendy: “It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Be kind to yourself, celebrate your successes, learn from your mistakes and always keep moving forward”. Congratulations Wendy!
Michelle Bullock joined Swansea Total Fitness in March 2013. She works out five days a week and her favorite class is ZUMBA! One of her biggest successes is completing the Boston Marathon. Michelle’s best advice is to find a workout that you enjoy and designate it as your personal time. She treats her life as a marathon, looking at each 6 miles as a goal and advises to break it up. Michelle has faced some obstacles on her fitness journey. She was losing her flexibility and her spine and hips were decreasing in bone mass. Due to the gym, her spine density has increased by 1% and her hipbone density has increased 4%. Congratulations Michelle!
Sousan Karwashan has been a member of Seekonk Total Fitness since August 2016. She joined the gym because she wants to get into great shape before her son’s wedding in July. Since starting training with Laurie Roderick, Sue has gotten so much stronger and leaner. She says, what she likes most about SKTF are the friendly employees. Sue is a real estate agent and a mom of four. Her best advice to those new to exercise is to eat healthy and don’t be afraid to take control of your confidence. Sue has gained a lot of confidence through working out. We are so proud of your success in and we love seeing your smiling face‌ in the gym! Congratulations Sousan!
Gary Cottrel has been a member of Dartmouth Total Fitness since July of 2013 and Nadine Aerts since January 2014. They train 5 days a week and back training is their favorite. Being consistent, drinking a ton of water, and paying attention to proper nutrition is the main advice the couple can give to anyone who is working towards their goals. Nadine has been working out since the age of 14 and was a competitive bodybuilder throughout her life! “Being fit is a lifestyle” according to Gary and Nadine and it sure shows!
